Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic with at least five years of experience specializing in diesel engine repair. This is a Monday to Friday daytime position to backfill for retirements, offering excellent mentoring opportunities within this established company.

Heavy-Duty Mechanics perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment. Responsibilities include servicing brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, and other mechanical systems.

Heavy-Duty Mechanics perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment. Responsibilities include servicing brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, and other mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to assess vehicle condition.
- Repair and maintain powertrains, electrical systems, air conditioning, fuel and emissions systems, brakes, steering, hydraulics, and related components.
- Perform major overhauls, disassembly, reassembly, and replacement of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts.
- Test vehicle performance through test drives and system adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and post-repair testing.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Must be eligible for employment in Canada.
- Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic certification (overseas experience will be considered).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working on diesel engines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using computerized and traditional diagnostic methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in operating tools safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, machines, and tools, including their functions, repair, and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
