Our client is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Manager to oversee and manage the company’s payroll and benefits administration.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Managing and administering the company’s group benefit plan.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of full-cycle payroll.
- Mentoring and supporting new members of the Payroll team.
- Processing employee data forms, employment letters, records of employment, and other relevant documents.
- Conducting bi-weekly payroll audits and assisting payroll staff with routine payroll processes.
- Providing training on payroll and benefits processes.
- Managing union dues processing and reimbursements.
Qualifications:
- Payroll Certificate Program and/or equivalent NPI designation.
- Minimum 5 years experience of full cycle payroll processing preferably within a unionized setting.
- Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
