The Cloud Systems Administrator - Architecture provides technical administration capabilities in the analysis, design, development, implementation, security, and testing of technical enhancements in the cloud infrastructure in support of strategic, operational, or project-based objectives. The Cloud Systems Administrator ensures these activities are executed in accordance with the standard operating procedures and in compliance with all IT policies and procedures. 

Responsibilites:
  • Deploy and Maintain Infrastructure:  Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud, hybrid, and on-premises compute and storage infrastructure in a secure, performant, and cost-effective manner using infrastructure-as code and automation tools.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, remediate issues, and write incident
    reports for senior leadership. 
  • Resiliency:  Design and implement high availability, redundancy, failover solutions and processes.
  • Disaster Recovery:  Design and implement repeatable and scalable backup and recovery solutions that meet business requirements for RPO and RTO
  • Observability:  Ensuring system observability through metrics, logs, and notification mechanisms.
  • Documentation:  Writing clear and comprehensive documentation for system and network architecture, infrastructure as code, and system integrations  to improve maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Learning:  Keeping up with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in Cloud Systems Administration, with an emphasis on cloud architecture implementation projects or related technology implementations.
  • AWS Associate-level Solutions Architect certification required.
  • Diploma or degree in computer science, management, or engineering, recognized in Canada. In lieu of a degree or diploma, additional experience over and above the minimum requirement may be considered.
  • AWS Advanced Networking specialty certification preferred.
  • Understanding of current cloud best practices, design principles, market trends and emerging technologies.
  • Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts and understands principles of routing, client/server programming and managing network services.
  • Experience in applying cloud security rules, network security and securing web transactions, applications and forms.
  • Additional AWS certifications desired.
