What You’ll Be Doing
  • Accurately process weekly and biweekly payrolls for a diverse workforce across office and field roles
  • Maintain and update employee records including onboarding, changes, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll-related legislation and collective agreements
  • Coordinate with supervisors and project leads regarding staffing changes and payroll requirements
  • Respond promptly to internal payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit remittances to third-party vendors, unions, and government bodies
  • Track and apply appropriate deductions for fines and vehicle infractions
  • Assist in benefits administration, including enrolment and contribution tracking
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports and summaries for internal use and audits
  • Prepare for annual reporting such as T4s and reconcile year-end data
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 3 years of payroll experience in a mid-to-large workforce setting
  • PCP designation through the National Payroll Institute
  • Formal education in accounting, business administration, or a related discipline preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both written and verbal
  • Experience with unionized environments considered an asset
  • A collaborative approach with a willingness to support cross-functional teams
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters
