Responsibilities:
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the CFO to operate a sound accounting department
- Be a part of the team executing accounting department activities.
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Monthly payroll
- Lease asset administration
- Setting up/cancelling payments
- Responsible for securitization activities, including daily transactions and month-end reporting to 25+ funders
- Completing comprehensive quarterly lease asset securitization reconciliations
- Responsible for quarterly financial statements (balance sheet and income statement)
- Responsible for year-end financial statements, note disclosures, and audits
- Completing accounting memos for new or changes in accounting policies or standards
- Preparing year-end tax provisions and compiling requested information for year-end tax filings
- Completing annual default and delinquency data analysis and reporting
- Assisting with monthly commissions reviews and reporting
- Completing monthly GST/PST filings
- Completing/assisting with NPV calculations and amortization schedules
- Working with large data sets and compiling/analyzing/proofing
- Journal entry batch processing of lease asset transactions and debt payments
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate action as required
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
- Minimum 4 years of experience with a solid foundation in accounting and financial information preparation
- Valid CPA designation
- Proficient in accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE)
- Extremely detail-oriented (critical)
- Strong understanding of finance and finance calculations
- Proficient in Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Good communication skills with strong, written and verbal skills
