Manager, Client Payments and Taxation

Our client, a well known organization in SW Edmonton (Hybrid model), is hiring an experienced Finance or Payroll professional to step into a leadership role supporting a high-volume, complex, payment processing team. This role is a 3 month contract starting ASAP.

You’ll lead a team of 5 and ensure accurate, on-time processing of complex transactions and monthly tax filings. You’ll play a key role in resolving issues quickly, keeping the team on track, and maintaining service levels under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee weekly and monthly client payment processing
• Lead year-end tax reporting and ensure CRA compliance
• Review and approve updates to client files and records
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and support process improvements
• Provide hands-on leadership to a skilled but diverse team

Requirements:

• CPA with high-volume transaction experience OR experienced Payroll Supervisor with tax/reporting expertise
• Strong understanding of Canadian personal tax rules
• Proven leadership experience (5 direct reports)
• Confident decision-maker who listens well and navigates team dynamics effectively
• Comfortable researching CRA bulletins and tax guidelines
