Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin have partnered with our client, located 20 minutes south of Winnipeg, to recruit a Human Resources Generalist for a maternity leave coverage role, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle administrative tasks, research, investigations, and special projects, including preparing reports, interpreting policies and procedures, and making HR-related decisions.

  • Assist with employee onboarding, including drafting offer letters, creating information packages, managing benefits enrollment, conducting orientations, and providing training on timecards and HRMS.

  • Coordinate recruitment across all divisions, including job postings, liaising with management, and arranging interviews.

  • Conduct reference checks, personnel risk assessments, and extend employment offers while ensuring appropriate follow-ups.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and organizational data in the HRMS.

  • Keep employee personnel files and legal contracts confidential and well-organized.

  • Manage and update HR’s SharePoint site.

  • Participate in various internal committees.

  • Oversee training and development strategies.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies.

  • Address employee inquiries and concerns.

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience.

  • Completion of a Human Resources certificate, diploma, or degree (considered an asset).

  • Strong initiative, planning, and organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

  • Capability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and employment strategies.
