Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin have partnered with our client, located 20 minutes south of Winnipeg, to recruit a Human Resources Generalist for a maternity leave coverage role, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
- Handle administrative tasks, research, investigations, and special projects, including preparing reports, interpreting policies and procedures, and making HR-related decisions.
- Assist with employee onboarding, including drafting offer letters, creating information packages, managing benefits enrollment, conducting orientations, and providing training on timecards and HRMS.
- Coordinate recruitment across all divisions, including job postings, liaising with management, and arranging interviews.
- Conduct reference checks, personnel risk assessments, and extend employment offers while ensuring appropriate follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and organizational data in the HRMS.
- Keep employee personnel files and legal contracts confidential and well-organized.
- Manage and update HR’s SharePoint site.
- Participate in various internal committees.
- Oversee training and development strategies.
- Develop and implement communication strategies.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience.
- Completion of a Human Resources certificate, diploma, or degree (considered an asset).
- Strong initiative, planning, and organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Capability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and employment strategies.
