Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, this role is a key part of the Total Rewards team, driving impact across the organization. The Manager, Compensation will oversee critical compensation processes, ensure operational excellence, and serve as the subject matter expert in job evaluation, pay equity compliance, and related functions. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong collaboration skills and the ability to align compensation strategies with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Job Evaluation & Structure
- Lead job evaluation (JE) processes, including title guidelines, job architecture, system job production, and master job database maintenance.
- Review, approve, and calibrate JE results to ensure consistency and adherence to established criteria.
- Educate and coach HR team members on JE methodology and best practices.
- Streamline JE processes to improve efficiency and introduce automation where feasible.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for JE inquiries, decisions, and changes.
- Maintain a quarterly dashboard to report key JE metrics and insights.
Pay Equity Compliance
- Oversee pay equity projects, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and organizational objectives.
- Manage data integrity, including validation, corrections, calculations, and budget tracking.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and compliance.
- Act as the primary liaison with external consultants, ensuring timely and accurate data provision.
- Monitor market trends and updates from pay equity regulators and participate in relevant surveys.
Compensation Administration
- Process off-cycle compensation requests while maintaining internal equity and business alignment.
- Build strong relationships with HR partners to ensure compensation practices support talent management goals.
- Develop and maintain global salary ranges, including updates for various roles and sales incentive targets.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in job benchmarking and salary range data.
Annual Compensation & Incentive Programs
- Support the year-end compensation process, including bonus eligibility calculations, HR validation files, and Total Rewards statements.
- Assist with testing, validation, and year-end communications.
- Support the administration of the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP), including participant record management, compliance tracking, and share transaction reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is a strong asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in point-factor job evaluation, with a strong understanding of JE processes.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with federal pay equity compliance.
- Experience in salary range development and management.
- At least 2 years of experience in compensation year-end processes, with a focus on execution.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management tools, including advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data validation, complex formulas).
- Experience with HR systems such as SuccessFactors is an asset.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive compensation data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
