About the Opportunity:
This is an amazing opportunity for a senior Legal Administrative Assistant to join a fantastic and collaborative Class Action team. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday through Friday (8.30am to 4.30pm) for someone who is detail oriented and able to work well both independently and within a team environment.
About the Position:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant, your duties include:
- Managing file progression including obtaining relevant documentation and managing settlement process
- Drafting, filing and serving pleadings and application materials
- Legal research
- Chambers and Trial preparation
- Be the point of contact for clients, including obtaining information regarding their claim
- Monitoring and diarizing limitation dates
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- LAA Diploma is an asset
- Superior organizational/document management skills with a strong attention to detail
- Fact investigation, analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Computer knowledge including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook & Case Management Software
- Advanced knowledge of database management
- Research and legal analysis skills
- Ability to manage work responsibilities in an unstructured environment
- Independent with the ability to confidently make judgment calls and recommendations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute deliverables in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sound business judgment including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Professional temperament, including the ability to remain calm under difficult circumstances
Compensation:
- Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 (based on experience)
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements post probation (1 day WFH per week)
