Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine manufacturing workflows for modular datacenters, cooling pods, and power distribution units (SPDUs).
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Optimize mechanical and electrical assembly processes for scalability.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control plans, and inspection criteria.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and electrical codes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to improve product reliability.
- Design and maintain manufacturing tools, jigs, and fixtures to enhance efficiency.
- Integrate automation solutions for precision assembly.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance plans for production equipment.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of high-quality materials.
- Optimize bill of materials (BOMs) and cost structures for efficient production.
- Improve inventory management strategies aligned with just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing.
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to transition new designs into production.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure manufacturability, ease of assembly, and scalability.
- Support prototyping, testing, and pilot production runs for new products.
- Utilize real-time data collection and KPI tracking to optimize production.
- Implement Six Sigma, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and process mapping techniques.
- Lead Kaizen events and cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, or production improvement.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality control methodologies.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing (preferred).
- Familiarity with thermal and fluid system manufacturing (immersion cooling or HVAC experience is an asset).
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in RCA methodologies (FMEA, 8D, 5-Why, etc.).
