Our client, a successful Winnipeg-based firm, is seeking an SQL Database & Integration Specialist. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the client’s SQL Server data warehouse and optimizing database design to enhance usability and performance. Additionally, the specialist will automate and integrate data between internal and external systems.
While primarily a technical role, it is essential that the candidate develops an understanding of the organization’s structure, business philosophy, products, values, and strategic direction.

Responsibilities:
General:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and integration requirements
- Stay updated on the latest trends in databases, integration, and cloud services
- Create and maintain system documentation
Database Administration:
- Maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Server installations, ensuring connectivity
- Translate business requirements into a physical data model
- Develop new tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures
- Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing
- Ensure database security, backups, and recovery processes
- Monitor software versions, fixes, and vendor announcements
- Generate ad-hoc reports and custom views as needed
Integration Specialist Duties:
- Design and implement data integration solutions
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Monitor and troubleshoot data integration workflows to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Optimize data integration processes for performance and scalability
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience required
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including query writing
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
