About the Position
As a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a team of lawyers by managing case files, preparing legal documents, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close files
- Draft, proofread, serve, and file legal documents
- Provide transcriptions
- Manage administrative needs for multiple lawyers
- Maintain physical and electronic document systems
- Prepare bills of costs
- Handle calendar and email management
- Perform other administrative duties as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the legal industry
- Experience in general commercial litigation, including the Commercial List
- Familiarity with construction liens
- Experience with Caselines
- Background in bankruptcy and insolvency law is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma is an asset
