We are excited to offer an immediate remote contract opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator to join a government client based in Winnipeg. This role begins as a 6-month contract, with a strong potential to extend up to 24 months in total.

About the Role
The Project Coordinator will support Project and Program Managers with day-to-day project management tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of activities to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, attend, and participate in planning and collaboration meetings
  • Document and follow up on action items and decisions from meetings
  • Support Project/Program Managers in preparing presentation materials
  • Ensure project deadlines are met and assist with timeline tracking
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
  • Maintain program management documentation aligned with program frameworks and methodologies
  • Ensure adherence to established frameworks and maintain project documentation
  • Support program governance activities
  • Coordinate and contribute to reports and briefing materials for management
  • Assist in identifying and managing project issues and risks
  • Support project planning and activity tracking using collaboration tools
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Identify and assist in setting up project tools and systems
  • Review, evaluate, and suggest improvements to methods and procedures in line with Manitoba government policies
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Coordinator
  • Experience providing program coordination for large, complex programs within established frameworks
  • Experience tracking project/program budgets and schedules
  • Experience preparing reports and briefing materials for management
  • Strong political acumen and ability to work in sensitive environments
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail with the ability to anticipate needs
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-profile initiatives
  • Experience using collaboration management tools such as Microsoft Teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
  • Knowledge of Project Management best practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a Project Coordinator in the Public Sector
  • Certification from a recognized project management body (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2)
